As Sandy and I look back, we have noticed several big defining moments and a ton of small ones. One big one is the day I started the site http://www.Inspiration4Everyone.com back on April 15th 2001. I had no idea how big of a defining moment that really was. That was the moment that snowballed into how I met Sandy. We would have never met if it weren’t for some crazy decision that God led me to do as start an inspirational site.
What if I would have not listened to my heart and didn’t build that site? I am not going into detail here about the things that led from there because you can click the about us tab to read the story.
There have been so many defining moments in our lives that seem so small but led to huge things. Everything you do whether good or bad will have an effect down the road. How much of an effect? Only God knows that. What are you doing today that will define who you are down the road? Are you proud of what you are doing? If not why not? It is time to change!
We hope that in every area of life God is guiding us. Sometimes we get off track for lack of focus but we then get right back up and back on track. Life is about trying to follow where God may lead you and do it fast since none of us knows where it will take us. Only God knows all of this.
This past few years have really has been a tough financially for us BUT it has been especially great spiritually and brought a closeness together that we have never felt. We are in awe when we look back on what God has done for us through our hearts and minds. This has been a huge pruning process that God is taking us through.
We know several years ago was one of our defining moments in our marriage and life. We had no idea at the beginning of 2010 what that year was going to hold. We had no idea where God was going to lead. I hate to admit it but at the beginning of 2010 we really weren’t serving our awesome God like we should have. At the beginning of 2010, we weren’t even going to church. If you asked us if we were Christians we would have said of course but if you would have asked us if we were pursuing God on a daily basis? We would have to say no we weren’t.
WOW, how that has changed. There are a lot of things that we still need to do but we are better now than we were over the last few years. We know in our hearts that God wants us to be able to ask ourselves at the end of each year are we better than how we started that year? I don’t think that means just financially but in all areas of life. If we can say that each year, then we are a success because success is a journey, not a destination.
As we look back at our almost 11 years of marriage now, we do things today that we have never done and that has given us a closeness that we have never had. I could go on and on about some of the things that we do but we don’t want to sound like we think we are it because we know we are nothing except through the redemption of Christ!.
If you are just driving through life, STOP for a moment and reflect. Look at the defining moments in your life and move forward with hope. Once you figure out some of those moments, you will see the good, the bad and the ugly of your decisions but all of those decisions put together made you into the man or woman you are today!
Don’t try and hide them but embrace them even if you don’t like it. Until you do that you can’t change anything. As Dr. Phil says, you have to acknowledge your part in your present in order to make changes. We wholeheartedly believe that.
We pray that this blog post will help you slow down in life and enjoy the person you have become. Its time to reflect on all those little moments from your past.
