Life is About Change!

If you are not growing in life then you are going backwards. Nothing is stagnant in life. Everything we do involves some kind of change. No matter what we are changing whether we realize it or not. Life really is about change.

Here is a poem I wrote a while back called:

Life is about change

Life is all about change
From the moment we are conceived
But as we go through this thing called life
We tend to go for comfort, rather than achieve.

There is nothing wrong
With having comfort in your life
As long as you don’t let it
Keep you from growing because of strife.

The more we grow as a person
The greater our attitudes become
as our soul strengthens
The easier it is to get the job done.

I’m not saying that as we mold our attitudes
Our life becomes problem free
But our minds tend to
Think a lot more clearly.

Life is a Journey, not a Designation
Therefore as we grow through life
We need to cut back on Procrastination.
It is a failure disease that will surely pull you down
And as you get older, and look back
You will do nothing but frown.

Everything in life involves change
No matter what you want to do
So you might as well embrace change
Or change will embrace YOU!!!

When I wrote that years ago I really didn’t realize how true those words are but as I have grown as a person I have now realized that life is about change. Many people buck change but it is a part of life. The question is whether we make that a good change or a bad change but change will happen.

So what do you do in order to change positively?

1) Stay in the word daily – Everything I write always starts with staying in the word daily. I am bad at this one too so I am talking about me too. Even though we all know we should do this, most of us don’t. Why? We allow other things to just get in the way but by staying in the word daily, it will help you move to a spiritual change.

2) Read from books that help you grow – You can’t let life just happen, you have to be proactive in life. As I said, change will happen whether you are inactive or proactive so reading from a growth book helps so much. My goal is to start reading 30 minutes to an hour a day. I used to do this but I have let life get in the way just like many people. Don’t do that so that you can grow as a person.

3) Take decisive action – Many people do the first two but they forget the action part. But I think it needs to be another step, not just action but decisive action. You can’t take any kind of action and expect positive results. You have to be decisive in your action. Taking decisive action involves planning but when you do it right you will see positive things happen in your life.

4) Correct your action – Once you start taking action you may find some things work and some things don’t. Once you figure that out then change what needs to be changed so that your new action can be the best action you take.

5) Celebrate your action – Once you start taking action and seeing some positive results then you should from time to time celebrate your actions and accomplishments. No one wants to go through life just working. You have to stop and smell the roses from time to time so you don’t burn out. I see a lot of people who have been doing the same things for many years and they look burnt out. You can’t allow yourself to burn out so that you can keep the fuel into the direction God is leading.

Once you start seeing some positive changes in your life, you will start to experience positive change. As I have already stated, change is going to happen but the big question is will change happen on your terms or not?

I see people who know their industry is going to fall apart over the next few years but instead of trying to work on their skills in other areas they choose to fight for their rights. Then when the industry changes so much and their business model falls apart they complain that they didn’t see this coming.

RESEARCH to make sure you are doing what you need to do and if you are in the right industry. I don’t care how much you love your losing industry, eventually you won’t be in that industry and if you don’t change now you may lose everything.

I have seen so many businesses go under because they fight change but because of technology, the business environment has changed. Unless you are willing to change with it you will not be in business 5 years from now. That is a fact. Many won’t be here 5 years from because they either will fight change or not change soon enough.

So are you a part of a business that is fighting change? You better find out or you could be left in the dust in 5 years. More change will happen over the next 5 years than we have seen over many years. More change will happen over the next 10 years then we probably have seen in a lifetime!

The change is inevitable so you might as well embrace change before you lose everything!

Ask God to help you see where change is happening and what you need to do about it. Ask God to show you the direction he wants you to go so that you can avoid the costly mistakes that many make. God will lead you in the way he sees your future. Ask God to give you his vision so that you can work toward that and not your own vision. Ask God to protect you from all loss so that you can keep your future going. Ask him to keep your ego in check so that when you need to change you will be ready for the change without trying to keep everything the same.
