Do you know where you are going or are you just floundering in life? We all flounder from time to time but we don’t need to flounder too much because it will become a habit.
Proverbs 29:18 – Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
The bible clearly talks about having a vision and if you don’t then you will perish. Without hope in the future you can’t have power in the present. Having a vision for your life is so important.
But having a vision for your life isn’t as important as having the right vision. I see many people have a vision for their life but if their vision doesn’t involve God’s people in some way then it isn’t a worthy vision and probably not the vision God called them to.
We need to find out the vision that God has for us not just follow what we want. It can be very hard to think about but it is something God wants. He knows what’s best for us. Many times we feel the nudge of God but because we either feel that we can’t do it or it is something that we don’t want to do we shun the idea that God gives us.
If we want to become all that God called us to be, we need to start following the vision that he gives us. But remember not to allow who you think you are to stop you from the vision that God called you to.
You may be thinking but God, I can’t do that. How many times in the bible did God call people to do things that they didn’t believe they could do? It happened over and over again just like in our lives. If God gives you his vision, he already has the provision to get the job done.
We don’t have to worry about how we are going to finish the vision, we just have to take the first step in faith. Until we take that first step nothing is going to happen. Stepping out on Faith is scary but if it weren’t scary then we would not need faith to do it.
God’s vision will always be scary and we will always be stretched. We are just like a rubber band, when we are stretched we never snap back to the same person. We are always bigger than what we were. The only way we can grow is to be stretched.
God accepts us where we are but he loves us too much to keep us there. God’s gift to us is our life but our gift back to God is what we do with it. What are you doing with your life that really matters?
What are you doing that will out live you? Are you pursuing a vision that is so big that not only it scares you but it will out live you in the process. That is a vision worth fighting for. Maybe you are the one who will cure cancer? Maybe you will one day be president? Maybe you are the one that changes the world? Whatever it is get a big vision because God’s vision will always be something worthwhile.
So where are you going? If you know where you want to go then what are you doing about it to get there? Are you doing things each day that get you closer to your vision or do you do things that hinder your vision?
I see people a lot of times say this is their vision but yet they do things in their life that are going to stop their vision from happening. For instance they may want to be a singer for God but they can’t stop partying. They know they have been called but the party life they feel is calling their name.
Or they met the woman of their dreams and are about to get married but can’t leave the single life behind so they destroy that relationship. What are you doing that you know in your heart is hindering your vision? It is time to change that. We are today what we used to be yesterday. We can’t be tomorrow what we want to be until we create a new us today.
So are you ready for a new life? Are you ready to find God’s vision and then run with it? Are you ready to change your life? You can do all of that by just turning your life back to Christ and then moving forward in faith.
Ask God what it is he wants you to do with the rest of your life. Ask him to help you see the vision he has for you. Ask him to give you the courage to go towards the vision. The vision isn’t going to be easy but it will be worth it. Remember that God is always with you.
God never said that he will make your life easy but he did say that no matter what he will be with you through it all. He will guide you if you open your heart and allow him in. Don’t let your ego get in the way of his calling for your life. It is really easy to say I am better than that. Don’t allow yourself to feel that way. Take his vision and run with it.
Ask him to guide you every step of the way. Ask him to give you the strength and tenacity to stick to your vision until it comes to pass.
