As I am writing, this is the ninth article in 9 days. The subjects have all been different but all important I think. WOW, I have been on a roll lately and it feels great. It’s been several years since I have written this much. I lost track over the last few years where I wrote very little. I got sidetracked by life and doing other things. I have always known that I was called to write and speak. I don’t know why but I have pushed this aside over the last few years.
I think everyone goes through their journey where they are growing close to God and then have other times where they just feel like they are going through the motions. That is where I was. You see, I still went to church every week and did what I was supposed to do, but I lost some of the emotion I had. I felt like I was just spinning my wheels for the last 6-12 months.
I finally decided to buckle back down and start writing again along with doing some reading and that has made all the difference. If we are going to grow toward God, we need to read from books and the Bible. That is where we will grow. It is where we will find ourselves. It is where we will allow God back into our hearts. Yes, we may love God but sometimes you feel like you are in a rut and need to change things up. This is why I started my writing again and it has worked.
This is why I know without a doubt that part of what I am called to do is write because there is something that happens inside of me as I am writing. God seems to always have something to say when I am at the keyboard. I hope you feel that way too about what God called you to do. I am not saying you are supposed to write because I don’t know what God wants from other people, I just know what he wants my wife and me to do. We talk about this a lot because we want to serve God in whatever way he wants us to serve.
Is there some passion you have in your heart that you feel called to do and it doesn’t violate any of God’s laws? Then maybe that is where God is calling you. Will this be easy? Of course not, and it’s not supposed to be either, but you still have to step forward in faith. Sometimes in your life you are asking God for clarity when he is asking you to just trust him. Sometimes you wish God would show you the way when he just wants you to take that first step in faith. Faith is what pleases God. He wants you to make that move.
When God sees his people step out on faith even though they can’t see where he is leading them, those are the people he will use in a mighty way! The question is, do you want to be used? Have you faded from God and want to find that passion again?
Ask God to help you step out on faith so he can show you where he wants you to go. Ask him to give you the courage to take that step of faith. Ask him to give you the wisdom to know when you need to step out in faith and ask him to guide you once you are moving forward in faith! AMEN!
